Lovina Beach is one of the famous tourist places in North Bali. It has beautiful calm seas, blackish sand, and the dolphins. One of the favourite fascinations in Lovina is a dolphins watching tour. Hundreds of dolphins can be seen in the morning, from about 5.00 until 9.00 am, around 1 km offshore. We can see the dolphin attractions such as jumping. Lovina beach is also known of beautiful sunsets. There, we can see the sun go down slowly, time by time, at sunset. Lovina beach is located in Kalibukbuk, the centre of activities in Lovina area, about 15 minutes from Singaraja.

Kalibukbuk itself is located in Buleleng subdistrict. It is about 2 hours away from Denpasar. Nowadays, Lovina area is becoming the centre of tourism activities in north Bali and offers many kinds of accommodations, such as restaurants, bars, beach activities, art shops, bank, transportations etc. We can find various kinds of hotels in this area, starting from the starred class hotels until the small ones, We can also find homestays for the low budget travelers. As a tourist area and centre of tourism in Singaraja, Lovina is visited by the greatest number of tourists who are visiting north Bali.

There is no clear source or evidence that gives us information about the genesis of the name “Lovina” .From the story that I heard from my parents in law, tha name “Lovina” was given because of its 2 Santen trees which were planted by Buleleng King, had been growing embrace each other. In this case, the name “Lovina” came from Latin Language which is meant “love each other or love”. Other version, the name “Lovina” is the abbreviation of Love and Ina, interpreted as Love for Indonesia .

Other tourist spot are also take places around Lovina such as hot water in Banjar Barat, the original water Yeh Sanih, and the Gitgit waterfall. With all of these tourism objects, it’s a certainty, we will enjoy the Lovina area very much…
